Em Em Yamit Marquez, has recently completed the CSWIP Magnetic Particle Inspection Practical held on 12–13 December in Abu Dhabi. She shared that when she first learned about the course, she recognised it as directly relevant to her role in non-destructive testing and inspection.
Before attending the training, her experience with magnetic particle inspection was mostly theoretical and limited to occasional exposure at work. The practical session helped her gain clarity and confidence in the key steps of the MPI process - particularly in preparing test surfaces, applying magnetic particles correctly, and interpreting indications with accuracy.
“After completing the practical session, I feel much more confident in applying magnetic particle inspection techniques. I can now recognise imperfections and perform the procedures with accuracy in my daily work.”
The hands-on learning, supported by clear demonstrations and trainer guidance, allowed her to connect classroom theory with real inspection scenarios. This practical exposure has improved both her technical understanding and her confidence in performing MPI tasks on the job.
Achieving competence through this structured practical training has had a positive impact on her professional credibility.
Beyond technical skills, she also mentioned that the session helped reinforce safety practices and quality standards that are essential in inspection work, allowing her to approach assignments with a more systematic and safety-minded mindset.
Motivated by her experience, she plans to continue her professional development, including pursuing further CSWIP certifications in NDT to deepen her expertise and expand her professional growth and opportunities.
