EMPHASIZING Project Short-Listed for Innovation Award

Thu, 11 January, 2024

The EMPHASIZING Project has been short-listed as a finalist for a JEC Composites Innovation Award in the category of ‘Circularity and Recycling.’

This nomination marks the first international award entry for the project, which is working on the upcycling of reclaimed Glass-Reinforced Plastics (GRP) from end-of-service wind blades for reuse as structural automotive parts.

The annual JEC Composites Innovation Awards has been recognising collaborative efforts and successful initiatives in the composites industry since 1998. By rewarding the most innovative solutions, companies are involved in composite innovation and their partners are encouraged in their work as well as gaining enhanced public exposure.

Project partner, B&M Longworth have been named for the EMPHASIZING project nomination on behalf of the fellow partners Brunel Composites Centre (BCC), EMS-CHEMIE, Ford Motor Company, Gestamp, Gen2plank Ltd, and TWI Ltd.

The awards include 11 categories from which 33 finalists will be selected, with the winners announced on 8 February, 2024, in Paris.

We are delighted to have been nominated for another award, having already been nominated as finalists for the 2023 Composites UK - Industry Awards.
