Welding engineering embraces many disciplines including weld design, materials processing and metallurgy, fabrication, quality control and repair.
TWI's welding engineers have a wide knowledge of all these disciplines, with diverse experience ranging from pressure vessel, boiler and heavy structural steelwork, through pipeline fabrication/installation to new build and repair for power generation, including nuclear. This is backed up by experience in dealing with welding issues with a wide range of processes and materials.
TWI's welding engineers have supported activities in all three typical cornerstone areas for the fabrication and welding engineering in a wide range of industry sectors: oil and gas, power, aerospace, construction engineering and automotive. Recent projects include: repairs of onshore and offshore facilities and procedure development and specialist training for the Nuclear power sector.
All TWI's welding engineers have appropriate professional qualifications, such as Certified European Welding Engineer and CSWIP Welding Inspector, which enable them to offer practical advice on best practice in tackling fabrication and welding issues.
Our independent judgement and experience can often save our Members time and money, particularly those organisations which do not have in-house capabilities or where very complex welding and fabrication issues are to be addressed.
TWI is also a world-leading supplier of training courses in welding engineering. Courses tailored to meet Members' needs and can be delivered either at our training centre, or at any of site in the world.
