Surface Engineering Section Manager, Henry Begg was in Stavanger, Norway for the Strategic Inspection Management Conference 2019.
The event drew representatives and experts from the oil and gas industry and provided an opportunity to network and find out the latest strategies for management of corrosion under insulation (CUI).
As well as engaging with TWI Member companies, Henry presented to the conference on the use of thermally sprayed aluminium (TSA) for managing CUI. TWI has a wealth of data and experience on the use of TSA for mitigating corrosion and have recently been investigating how such coatings are affected by conditions experienced during CUI service.
