TWI is set to exhibit at the prestigious JEC World, the largest composites show in the world, which takes place from 14-16 March in Paris, France
As one of the world’s largest exhibitions and gatherings of composite professionals, the event provides a wealth of dedicated and focused business platforms for the global composites industry.
Our team of experts will be on hand throughout the exhibition to talk to you about how TWI can support you and your organisation with all your composite inspection needs.
Visit us at stand number U63 in Hall 6.
Meet the TWI team
Ian Cooper, Technology Fellow, Advanced NDT
Ian has 30 years of experience in advanced non-destructive testing (NDT). He helps companies apply cutting edge inspection technologies to challenging materials across a range of industrial sectors. As an example, he currently leads the IntACom programme, a series of major projects funded by TWI, industrial partners and the Welsh Government, developing advanced robotic inspection systems for complex geometry composite components.
Stavros Avramidis, Senior Project Leader
Stavros has considerable experience in the development of non-destructive testing (NDT) inspection procedures for complex geometries, especially when it comes to using advanced ultrasonic techniques such as phased array (PA) and full matrix capture (FMC). Combining his technical knowledge, testing experience and site experience he assists TWI members and industrial partners to develop inspection solutions. His role also involves project management and business development.
Paul Burling, Defence Programme Manager
Paul has considerable experience in the composites industry and also leads TWI’s activities in the defence sector. He has helped to develop the metallic coating of composite materials technology for wear-resistant, lightning strike, thermal management and data transmission applications. Paul will be conducting live demonstrations of Surflow, TWI’s data transmission through composites technology, during the event.
Jasmin Stein, Senior Project Leader (Composites)
Jasmin has a strong technical background and experience in composites manufacturing and testing. She is a technical lead and a coordinator for many composite related projects at TWI. Two of the main areas she is currently working are microwave heating and simulations of composites and data transmission through composites. Jasmin and Paul will be conducting live demonstrations on data transmission through composites during the event.
