Businesses and scientists from across India's growing aerospace sector will be among the delegates at a major event at which TWI will present later this month.
The Aerospace and Defence Manufacturing Summit 2015 will take place in Bangalore on 24-25 July. Comprising an exhibition showing both products and innovative projects from engineering college students, an international seminar and panel discussion, speakers and opportunities for business-to-business meetings, the event is expected to welcome 300 delegates.
TWI Corporate Development Manager Chris Wiseman will present at the event on TWI's research into advanced joining technologies for the aerospace sector. Other topics of discussion will include financial incentives for research and development in India, opportunities, such as Technology Transfer, for small and medium-sized enterprises and bespoke training programmes for aerospace and defence manufacturing.
India, which has the third-largest military in the world, currently meets around 60 per cent of its defence acquisition requirements through imports. The event will be held under the banner of "Make in India", a national initiative to nurture manufacturing in the country and reduce this reliance on overseas investment.
Now in its second year, the Aerospace and Defence Manufacturing Summit is being organised by the Society of Indian Aerospace Technologies and Industries and Aeromag Asia. For more information visit www.aeromag.in/adms.
