TWI Ltd, a world-leading research and technology organisation, and SSA, the voice of the UK marine industry, have teamed up to deliver an event that aims to bust the myth that funding opportunities in the maritime sector are just for large organisations.
The free event, which takes place on 15 July 2015, is aimed at anyone connected with the shipbuilding industry or maritime sectors with an interest in UK and European collaborative projects.
David Elson of Innovate UK will open the event with a description of the maritime funding landscape.
This will be followed by a day of presentations on successful collaborative projects in the sector, and includes a guide to the collaborative bidding process. Both sessions are followed by a Q&A.
Speakers include TWI's Richard Freeman, Stephen Cater, Ujjwal Bharadwaj and John Matwiejew, SSA's Gary Ball, and BIC's Cem Selcuk, and will give a review of recent collaborative projects in the sector and ways to access funding from UK and European sources.
This one-day event would be of benefit to companies operating in the maritime sector who are looking to develop technologies and would like to access collaborative funding to assist the process.
TWI's newly opened conference facilities just south of Cambridge will provide the perfect backdrop for a day of networking, presentations and debate, with lunch and refreshments provided throughout. The Granta Centre has good transport links and plenty of free parking.
Registration opens at 10.00am with presentations starting at 10.30am. The event closes at 3.00pm.
