Young engineers from one of TWI’s Industrial Member companies visited the organisation’s Great Abington headquarters at the end of January, to find out more about how TWI can support their work.
The group of engineers from offshore technology specialist INTECSEA travelled up to Cambridge from Woking for a ‘lunch and learn’ day, part of a series of events that TWI regularly hosts for Member companies wishing to introduce their new recruits and graduates to its services.
TWI’s Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals Programme Manager, Dr Caroline Young, led the engineers on a tour of TWI workshops and engineering laboratories, highlighting technology capabilities and equipment relating to a number of projects recently completed for the oil and gas sector. The visit concluded with a presentation of products and services available for use by TWI Members plus an introduction to The Welding Institute – the arm of TWI that provides professional registration and support to welding and joining personnel around the world.
Lunch and learn events are an excellent way for Industrial Member companies to find out how they can make the most of their membership. If your company is interested in taking part in a similar event, please contact us.
