The Welding Institute is inviting nominations for its 2015 Annual Awards, which will be presented in the early summer of next year at a special ceremony followed by dinner at King's College, Cambridge with over 200 invited guests.
The Institute's suite of professional Awards has been established since the late 1970s to recognise the contributions and achievements of individuals or successful partnerships worldwide, working in the development and application of welding, joining and related technologies.
The 2015 Awards presentation ceremony will be held on 30 June 2015 at King's College, presided over by TWI Associate Director of Professional Affairs, Chris Eady, with the President of the Council of the Welding Institute, Bertil Pekkari, and notable academic and industrial figures in the field.
The Awards panel is inviting nominations now for:
The Brooker Award - made in recognition to a recipient's personal contribution to the science, technology and industrial exploitation of materials joining.
Bevan Braithwaite Award - to reward a recipient's enterprise to the benefit of welding and joining. It recognises enthusiastic and passionate promotion of a vision, and strategic drive to turn the vision into reality.
Larke-Lillicrap Award - to acknowledge an individual or team with the most influence or impact on the practical application of novel welding or joining knowledge or technology.
The Lidstone Award - for an individual under 40 years of age, who is deemed to have made the most significant contribution to the advancement of welding technology during the five years preceding the year of the award.
Honorary Fellowship - conferred in recognition of the recipient's contributions to, and standing in, the welding engineering community at an international level.
