The Welding Institute Annual Conference 2013
The Welding Institute Conference took place at the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Rotherham, and focused on industry requirements for compliance with new CE marking regulations for welded construction products.
The conference, chaired by David Shackleton, featured presentations by Ian Hogarth (TWI Certification Ltd) on EN1090 certification - Requirements for ITT; John Krancioch (John Krancioch Associates) on the Manufacturer's Point of View; Christian Rothbauer (GSI/SLV) on Additional requirements of EXC 4 and execution classes according to German rules; Henk Bodt on How EWF can assist the industry in complying with the CPR; Peter Roughley (UK CARES) on Requirements for reinforcing steels; Andy Brightmore (TWI Ltd) on Welding Co-ordination Software; Jeff Garner (Sandberg LLP) on the Do's and don'ts when taking the first steps towards CE marking - practical guidance and Chris Eady (TWI Certification Ltd) on Compliance through competence.
The conference was very well received by around 50 professionals from industry.
