OMAE 2019

Exhibitions 09-14 June 2019

The 38th International Conference on Ocean,Offshore and Arctic Engineering (OMAE2019) will be held in Glasgow, Scotland from June 9 – 14, 2019.

TWI Industrial Members are eligible to register at the conference at the ‘member’ rate.

TWI will be sending delegates to present on recent work in fracture and fatigue, and TWI Technology Fellow Dr Isabel Hadley is organising a special session on the recent developments in British standard BS7910 - Guide to methods for assessing the acceptability of flaws in metallic structures.

Meet the team

Caroline Young

Programme Manager - Oil, Gas & Petrochemicals at TWI Ltd

Caroline Young is TWI's Programme Manager for the oil and gas industries. She is based at the Cambridge office and provides an interface with oil and gas member companies worldwide.

She is also the Industrial Membership Sector Manager for oil and gas, which she has been involved with for 18 years. However, now she is tasked with managing members on a more technical level and facilitating interactions with TWI's technical groups on, consultancy, research and project work.

Carol Johnston

Principal Project Leader – Fatigue Integrity Management

Carol joined TWI in 2009 as a project leader in the Fatigue Integrity Management section, where she now works as a principal project leader. She manages a range of projects related to the fatigue strength and structural integrity of welded joints. Her main area of work is on validation fatigue testing of welds and subsea connectors for the oil and gas industry using the resonance fatigue testing technique. Before joining TWI, Carol obtained an undergraduate degree in natural sciences, followed by a PhD in the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy at the University of Cambridge
