13th International Symposium on Friction Stir Welding
Kyoto, Japan on 26 - 28 May 2020
With the recent global concerns over the outbreak of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the organisers of the 13th International Symposium on Friction Stir Welding have been monitoring the situation daily. There is a lot of information flowing from many different media sources and this is a very fast moving situation. With the information that is currently available, we still intend to hold the event at the Kyoto International Conference Centre on 26-28 May. We will continue to monitor the situation and will formally review the position again on 31 March 2020.
This is a unique global forum that provides the opportunity for professionals from around the world to share and develop scientific and technical knowledge on Friction Stir Welding.
The event will be supported by the Joining and Welding Research Institute, Osaka University. It will be held in Kyoto, once the capital of Japan. Kyoto is famous for its numerous classical Buddhist temples, as well as gardens, imperial palaces, Shinto shrines, traditional wooden houses and includes 17 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The venue will be the Kyoto ICC, one of Japan’s premier conference centres.
The event will include three days of oral and poster presentations.
An industrial visit will been organised by our supporters on 29 May 2020.
