TWI held its 40th Aerospace Industry Panel meeting in Cambridge on 18th March, attended by 20 companies from around the world, with presentation from RTI Advanced Forming on SPFDB and from TWI on the strategy for Microwave Processing of Composites, modelling of keyhole welding, design & optimisation of composite reaction link, diffusion bonding and brazing and an update on coatings activity. The next scheduled Aerospace Panel meeting will take place at TWI, Cambridge on Wednesday 26th March 2014. This was followed by a seminar on TWI's spraying activities (HVOF, plasma, cold spray) during the morning of 19th March, and then the launch of the new GSP on Improved surface treatment and structural repair of Mg alloy components using cold spray in the afternoon. TWI hosted a Railway Asset Management seminar on 20th September, with speakers from the Department of Transport, the Technology Strategy Board, the International Union of Railways. Sinclair Knight Merz, Network Rail, Lulea University, HS2, London Underground and TWI. There were 50 attendees at this excellent meeting, and was backed onto the MAINLINE collaborative project meeting the previous day.
