Invention and innovation
We are pleased to announce an event specifically for our Younger Members, Graduates and Students.
A one-day Younger Members event will be held at TWI, Granta Park, Great Abington, Cambridge on Thursday 18 March 2004 between 09.30 - 15.30.
Titled "Invention and innovation - tomorrow's view of the aerospace and automotive industries", it will be an informative day, providing the opportunity to gain recognised Professional Development.
Speakers from the aerospace and automotive industries, including Rolls Royce, Jaguar and TWI, will provide an insight into the latest technologies followed by a tour and a series of demonstrations at TWI's new facilities.
As part of The Welding Institute's commitment to Professional Development, attendance will be free to students and only £50.00 to Professional and Welding & Joining Society Members (Non-members £90.00 plus one year's free membership of the WJS).

Call for papers
The Friction Stir Welding Licensees Association is pleased to announce that the 5th Symposium will be held on 14-16 September 2004 in Metz, France. Papers are requested summarising high quality and innovative FSW research and development or new FSW applications. Abstracts should be submitted by 30 January 2004 to Diana Fairmaner at TWI.
