The North East Regional Electronics Show held at South Tyneside College in November 2001 was organised by TWI to assist and promote the electronics industry in North East England. The show was supported by 47 exhibitors selected to represent a broad cross section of the PCB assembly process and attracted over 100 visitors from 35 local companies. It also included a contingent from the Electronics Faculty of the college.
Feedback from the visitors demonstrated a successful event with requests for more of the same next year and further stalls from component suppliers. The exhibitors also benefited from the event with good sales leads and a willingness to attend the event again next year.
The show was run under the sponsorship of the European Regional Development Fund.
