NTPC Limited, formerly known as National Thermal Power Corporation Limited, is an Indian public sector undertaking, engaged in the business of electricity generation and allied activities. It is a company incorporated under the Companies Act 1956 and is promoted by the Government of India.
The Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) - Welds - Blended Learning programme was inaugurated on 16 June 2020 via Microsoft Teams. The course was offered to 45 executives of NTPC working in quality, maintenance, erection and OS in different locations. The in-class training will be organised at the client premises after the successful completion of the eLearning aspect.
A group of dignitaries from TWI India and TWI UK presented the inauguration of the programme jointly with NTPC professionals.
Shri Anoop, Senior Manager, PMI, welcomed all dignitaries and participants from various project sites, and Shri D.S.Rao, Executive Director (PMI), NTPC introduced all TWI UK and India management to NTPC executives.
Shri Ohja, of the NTPC addressed all participants and motivated everyone to actively participate in the blended learning prgramme.
Shri M.K.Asthana, General Manager (New Initiatives - Welding Research), NTPC, explained the significance of blended learning and the importance of PAUT certification to all of the nominated participants.
Dr Shervin Maleki, Director (Global Development) at TWI UK, explained about TWI and, in his address, Mr Chris Punshon, Industrial Sector Manager at TWI UK, briefed everyone about research activities in welding and advanced NDT.
Mr. Alexander Tsougkranis, NDT Training Programme Manager, explained the overall structure of the blended learning training programme and, in their address, Dr Pardikar and Mr Sathish explained about PAUT Practical Training, the number of days required and about equipment
Mr Venkat, Regional Manager of TWI India, and Ms Siva Nagavi, Manager (Marketing and QA), explained the overall coordination of the programme and the documentation before wishing all the participants success in their PAUT training and examination.
At the end, Shri Anoop offered a vote of thanks to all dignitaries of NTPC and TWI UK and India. He also thanked every participant, and wished them well for the training and exam.
