Who is the CSWIP 3.1U course for?
It is designed for commercial divers requiring an internationally recognised inspection qualification.
What does the course cover?
The course covers theoretical instruction to the CSWIP approved syllabus, general underwater and close visual inspection, recording by video and photography, cathodic protection measurements, ultrasonic digital thickness measurements, and an end-of-course assessment.
What will I be able to do afterwards?
On completion you should be able to explain the theoretical principles of subsea visual inspection, be proficient in practical visual subsea inspection techniques, and gain eligibility to sit the CSWIP 3.1U examination.
What are the entry requirements?
You must hold an approved commercial diving qualification and an HSE approved, in-date, full commercial diver medical certificate. Verification of these requirements will be requested once your online booking is complete.
Which syllabus does the course follow?
It follows CSWIP-DIV-7-95 Part 1, 6th Edition (April 2019), which can be found on the CSWIP website.
How do I progress after this course?
The 3.1U is the first step on the Topside and Underwater Inspection path, leading on to CSWIP 3.2U (NDT Inspection Diver), CSWIP 3.3U (ROV Inspector) and CSWIP 3.4U (Underwater Inspection Controller).
