Martin has worked in digital manufacturing for the last 30 years. He started as an electrical/electronic apprentice working in the nuclear industry, which led him to writing PLC programs for a nuclear recycling plant. Through the Open University, Martin gained an hons degree in computer science and has never looked back.

Today Martin heads up Atlas, ATS Global’s innovation group, helping customers in achieving their innovation dreams through the use of clouds, things, and bots.

Chris Allen - Product Manager

Chris Allen is the Product Lead for Mobile Private Networks at Vodafone. He has 20 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry - building Fixed as well as Mobile networks, Cloud & Security solutions, and the Internet of Things (IoT). He has worked in a range of commercial, technical and operational disciplines with accountability for Product Development and Product Management in the UK and internationally.

Nigel re-joined Comau in 2018 after a 15 year hiatus. He has worked in the manufacturing sector for the over 30 years. He started his career as an electrical apprentice for an industrial electrical contractor. He later moved into electrical design for automated systems and then Project Management.

In the last 15 years Nigel has worked in Central Europe in senior management roles. Nigel studied Physics and later Engineering with the Open University and finally gained a BEng Hons degree.

Chris White has over 25 years of experience in Powertrain Manufacturing at Ford Motor Company. This included leading a team of Manufacturing Engineers to install Engine Assembly facilities in multiple locations, including Cologne, Romania, UK and South Africa.

He is now leading a team managing the skills transition required to deliver facilities needed for Electric powertrains.As part of this role, he leads the E:PriME consortium of companies working together on a pilot facility for Edrives and battery arrays.

Rishabh is a Solutions Leader within the IBM Industrial business, working on bringing Industry 4.0 to life. He has worked with manufacturing and industrial companies in the UK's automotive, aerospace & defence and industrial products in understanding new ways to mine data from the shopfloor and turn it into business value.

In his spare time he runs the "AI in Industrial Podcast" through which he brings out the various ways in which advanced analytics, AI, edge and other exponential technologies are helping Industrial companies evolve from manufacturing products to delivering experiences.

Dr Min Xia - Lecturer in Advanced Manufacturing

Dr. Min Xia is currently a Lecturer in Advanced manufacturing at Lancaster University. His research interests include intelligent sensing, monitoring, optimization, and control of mechatronic systems, advanced manufacturing processes, and clean energy production. Dr. Xia has published more than 20 papers in top journals and conferences in mechatronics and industrial informatics. Dr. Xia is seating on the editorial board of many peer-review journals including Mechatronic Systems and Control, Electronics, and Unmanned Systems Technologies. He has led various prestigious international conferences as the general chair or committee chair including IEEE ICCSE, IEEE CASE, and ICMVIT.
