Why Business Leaders Should Consider a Senior Apprenticeship

Mon, 05 June, 2023

Executive level apprenticeship designed to equip senior management with the knowledge and tools to strategically address the industrial challenges of 2023 and the future.

De Montfort University (DMU) and NSIRC have partnered to create an industry-focused Senior Leader (Executive) Apprenticeship Programme for professionals performing strategic leadership roles who direct, lead and manage organisations.

This Chartered Management Institute (CMI) level 7 senior leadership programme is designed by DMU with a focus on the industrial need for managers and leaders capable of critical thinking and executing complex change in a fast-paced, technology innovation landscape.

Focusing on empowering professional strategic management from public, private or third-sector organisations, of all sizes, the programme enables apprentices to develop versatile skill sets to support dynamic leadership and financial decision-making process through practical example and work-based learning. This standard has been allocated Funding Band 12 (£14,000) by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE).

Reasons to Consider a Senior Leader Apprenticeship:

1. Develop Your High-Level skills

Senior leader apprenticeships provide an opportunity for business leaders to develop high-level skills that are essential for success in today's competitive business environment. Apprenticeships provide practical training and real-world examples that help leaders to apply theoretical knowledge to workplace challenges. This results in the development of highly skilled and capable leaders who can drive their organisations forward.

2. Retain and Develop Talent Within Your Organisation

Apprenticeships provide a valuable opportunity for businesses to invest in their staff and retain talent. By offering high-level training and development opportunities to existing staff, businesses can demonstrate their commitment to employee development and growth. This can lead to increased staff engagement and retention, as well as improved productivity and performance.

3. Save Money by Utilising the Apprenticeship Levy

The apprenticeship levy was introduced by the UK government as a way to encourage businesses to invest in apprenticeships. Senior leader apprenticeships provide an excellent opportunity for businesses to utilise their levy and reinvest in the development of their staff. By investing in apprenticeships, businesses can create a skilled and capable workforce that is equipped to tackle the challenges of the modern business environment.
